photography from my focal point

wedding

Tony & Jeanie:: elegance

When I think about Tony and Jeanie’s wedding, I have to smile.  Not only because I love working with friends, but also because it was such a beautiful, elegant, and fun wedding!  From the first moments in the morning with the girls while Jeanie got ready, to the Japanese lanterns soaring away into the night sky at the end of the day, it was lovely!
Because I’m working on their wedding album right now, I’m going to break up blogging a bit, and post some of the pages from their album instead of just individual photos.  I’d love to know what you think of this; posting album pages instead of individual photos.  I realized that I post more photos when I don’t have to work with each one individually!
Just a bit of promo for the album itself; this is a 12×12, leather-bond, double-weight page album.  I love these books for their durability, large photos, and beautiful, vivid colors!  Any wedding would be proud to be documented in a book like this. :)

Tony and Jeanie; thank you so much for the honor of being a part of your special day!  We loved working with ya’ll and couldn’t have ask for  a more fun and relaxed {and in love} couple! :)   Cheers to your happily ever after!

Chris + Sylvia = affection

I’m so thankful I have happy pictures to look back on from this wedding!  It truly was a beautiful day, complete with lots of love and all the rights components to make a lovely wedding day.  The value of being able to separate business and personal life while on the job was also brought a bit closer home when our car broke down on the way to take pictures that morning.  Thanks to many kind souls, we were able to proceed through the day with a borrowed car and had a ride home the next day (we were in Indiana), but the added stress was definitely not something I wish to repeat anytime soon!  My hubby did a great job of arranging things with our car while I [attempted to] carry out the wedding portraits as though all was well with the world. :)
All that to say, meet Chris and Sylvia, who were happily married and celebrated as planned! :)

Brandon & Melissa- Virginia love

If ever the popular quote, “Live. Laugh. Love” fit a couple, I’d say it fit this one!  What an epic summer wedding (yes, that’s revealing as to how far behind I am on blogging:( ) filled with laughter and love all because of this handsome, funny, and in-love couple!
Never mind the rain that tried to kill the joy; we dodged the puddles and lived up the day capturing the beauty of this couple’s relationship.

Melissa was a gorgeous bride!  She had a fun and easy laugh; often triggered by something Brandon said. :)

Loved the hair piece!

Gotta have some attitude!

Brandon; what a handsome, funny, and charming groom!

Two personal faves from the day

Melissa, your gorgeous; inside and out!

and to please the crowd… :)

I don’t often post ceremony pictures, so decided to add a few this post.  The Ring bearer and flower girl were way to cute!

This seems to be the ‘new cake’ this summer at weddings, and I love it!  So fun and different.

Yep, I love a good cake feeding and can’t resist a few pictures from this one! :)

and a few more with the cute bug…

and they lived happily ever after. :)
Brandon and Melissa; we loved spending the day with ya’ll, taking in all the celebration, love, and laughter!  Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day; may God bless your journey together very richly!

Paul & Verneda:: summer bliss

It’s always an honor to be involved in a friend’s special day, and Paul & Verneda’s wedding was no different.  I’ve enjoyed observing their relationship, and know they are a wonderful couple!  Their wedding was full of emotion and love, and was definitely a touching day for everyone present.

Verneda is a beautiful person inside and out, and the title of ‘bride’ only enhanced her beauty and the joy of the day!  I decided to start with a few photos of the bride.

pretty details

so happy and having fun together; nothing more delightful to witness on a wedding day!

A
 favorite of mine

Most of the emphasis is usually put on the bride of any given wedding day, but the groom is definitely a big part of the day too! ;)  Paul, looking quite stellar as well!

I loved that the bridal party was made up of Paul and Verneda’s siblings

Verneda and her lovely sisters

Paul and the guys

I also want to add one of Verneda’s family- please keep them in your prayers as you think about it.  John is fighting cancer right now, and Barb just came thru surgery to have a brain tumor removed.  My thoughts are often with this family, and I know they’d appreciate your prayers for them during this tough season of life.

and a few more of the happy couple to end this post…
Thanks for the honor being a part of your special day, Paul and Verneda!  Your strength and endurance is a challenge to me, and I pray that God will bless your marriage, as well as your involvement with your family and the needs there.

Troy & Cherie- {love}

A beautiful day, and delicious morning light {their reward for starting wedding portraits at 6:30 am} were a wonderful start to Troy and Cherie’s big day!  A stunning couple with natural pose and happy love- many sweet moments were captured.

As was requested, here is a bridal party photo. :)

Troy and Cherie, thanks for giving us the privilege of capturing your special day!  We loved working with ya’ll and wish you the best in your happily ever after!

Isreal & Jenny:: June Love

A beautifully overcast June day and a sweet couple, in love and ready to tie the knot!  Jenny is a photographer herself, and I loved the charming academy campus she chose for their wedding portraits.  All around it was a lovely day and we were privileged to be a part of the beginning of Isreal and Jenny’s happily ever after!

Jon & Melanie:: spring happiness

A crisp spring day, and love and smiles that the chill couldn’t possibly wipe away.  The wonder of love has worked its magic again. :)
Big congrats to Jon and Melanie as they start their happily ever after together!

Mark & Sadie:: wedding

Wow, how is it almost March already??  In the midst of planning my own wedding and all the winter projects, I almost forgot that I never posted the last wedding I shot in 2010!  It’s much too nice of a wedding to not make the blog, so here it is- better late than never! :)

Mark and Sadie chose not to see each other before their ceremony, so the photo session time we had after the wedding was short and sweet.  I loved the way they expressed their love and adoration to each other!

Before the ceremony Cliff and worked at seperate locations with the guys and girls- here’s some of the handsome groom and I can’t help but put some up of the girls because they were loads of fun!

Beautiful and happy Sadie!  Loved loved her colors!!

The delicious morning light was amazing too!

Her pretty girls

More of the happy two…

Wishing you the best as you start out on this new journey together!  May God bless you as you continue to bless others!

And that officially wraps up Lifexpression Photography 2010!!  Cheers to a new year with some exciting weddings coming up (my own being the most exciting, of course! :) ), new places to go and people to meet!  Just a note to you brides-to-be out there, if your planning your wedding for this summer or fall, and are considering my photography services, I am pretty much booked through July, and have one spot left in August yet, so the summer is filling up very quickly!

Dan & Kathryn::lovebirds

True character is displayed when circumstances are just not ideal- especially for the most special day of your life.  Dan and Kathryn were real troopers with the rain that decided to grace their day (particularly over the time of outdoor pictures).  We decided to just take the necessary photos that day and save the rest of them for a more ideal day in the future, so here’s two shots from the day of…

…and the rest of these are from a fun and relaxed session we did after the honeymoon.  I’d never done that before with a couple, and totally loved it!  I loved not having the pressure of time and other things that usually factor into a pre-wedding session.  This couple was pure pleasure and enjoyment to work with!
So in love…so cute!

Striking, I know!

They were constantly cracking each other up :)

Love these shots that Cliff got…

A beautiful and charming bride!

Best wishes on your happily ever after!  Doing this post makes me want to do this session all over again!  Ya’ll made my job easy and fun!

Brandon & Krista::married!

Some weddings just seem to be next to perfect, and you couldn’t ask for a better anything.  This was one of those weddings.  I loved *almost* ;) every minute of it and had a lot of good times with Brandon and Krista; the charming bride and groom!  I don’t think I’ve ever used so many different props in a wedding session before, and the fun and random things Krista had picked out added a fun flare to the day and to their photo session!
Meet the good-looking couple themselves!

The morning light was WOW!

Ah yes, I love love a good clean groom portrait like this!

Talk about a couple who could strike some ‘tude!

Krista, the beautiful bride; I loved her style and personal touches!

So solemn and aloof…

,,,but only for a moment!

From a country ranch, to the back alleys of town- variety is so delightful!

A few of the wedding party…the royal blue is the bride’s maids and the aqua is the friends of honor.
Love the colors!

The whole lot of them

The guys

A few details from the beautiful outdoor reception.

Brandon and Krista, I feel honored to have been able to be a part of your special day!  Many blessings on the rest of your life together!

and I’ll close with a personal favorite.
Merry Christmas!

Mark & Jody::married

A sweet September wedding filled with love, sunshine, and a beautiful and celebrated couple!
I think I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves….

This is for those of you who like to see the bridal parties. :)

Mark & Jody- I thoroughly enjoyed my day with ya’ll!  Thanks for allowing me the honor of capturing your love and sweetness!

Brian & Donna::wedded bliss

On a wedding day, I love nothing more than to see love.  Lots of love.  Pure, excited, and expressive love.  Love that is not ashamed to be seen.  Love that is bubbling up from deep within a person and can’t be stopped no matter what happens.  I know this is mostly a given for a wedding day, but it is still expressed differently in every couple, and is more evident in some than others.
I love the way Brian and Donna were so in love on their wedding day, and not ashamed to show/tell the whole world! :)  They were so much fun to work with and I’m pretty sure a trail of love and happiness was left all over Baltimore that day. :)

They posed…

….they laughed…

….they were shwoony :)

The beautiful bride and real trooper in the incredible wind of the day!

The groom, looking quite handsome.

loved Donna’s details!

Yep, they are huge Oriole’s fans, so we couldn’t forget the stadium!

can’t resist a shot of the beautiful ladies in black- so classy!

The reception was just gorgeous- I wanted to take the old building home with me!

And a final shot- cheers to life, love, and happiness! :)

Tony & Joyce::married!

A more flexible and easy- to- work- with couple than Tony and Joyce will be hard to find!  Indiana and I have this thing going- when I go out there to shoot a wedding, it will rain.  Well, at least it has the past 2 times.  Tony and Joyce were real troopers through it all and handled the rain like pros!  Even tho they weren’t able to take their pictures where they had originally wanted to, we were able to find a place where it was only dripping- not raining- and God blessed us with a few hours of overcast skies.  We were delighted to say the least!

A beautiful couple, inside and out!

I loved Joyce’s style- simply elegant and pretty.

Tony seemed like a real romancer and shwooner, and of course, Joyce loved it. :)

A shot of the pretty girls…so thankful for the umbrellas that day!

…and the handsome guys.

their get-a-way car was just too cool!

Blessings on your happily-ever-after!  Thanks for letting me share in your special day, and I couldn’t have ask for braver to people to endure the elements that day. :)

James & Angi::married!

It seems to be my luck that when I go to Indiana for weddings, it rains!  Thankfully, on the morning of James and Angi’s wedding, we were still able to get a good bride and groom session in before the rain came full-tilt!

Kudos to a fun couple, who were real troopers with the weather, and made the most of their time alone before the rush of the day.  I loved how fun, random, and spontaneous this couple was, and I think it was a pretty good picture of their character and relationship!
The rain from earlier in the morning left everything looking fresh and dewy- so beautiful!

Their choice of location proved to be perfect for the weather- I loved the wonderland effect the sun and rain had on these gardens.

Angi- a most beautiful and fun bride!

The embroidery on her belt was truly amazing and done by her mom!

mushrooms…what nice props. ;)

Mr. Groom was looking quite dashing as well!

like I said- random and fun! :)

ah yes, love the lighting!

one of my favorites!  Best wishes on your marriage and happily ever after!

Mark & Marla

A beautiful June wedding (I know, that tells you I’m behind on blogging ;) ) w/ a traditional ceremony and lovely outdoor reception.
Meet Mark & Marla…beautifully in love!

I loved this field- one of my favorite types of places to shoot!

so sweet and in love!

I loved the bouquets!

a great bridal party to work with!

Fun details in the beautiful outdoors

I thought they might just walk off into their happily ever after right then and there and not come back!

Jesse & Kris

A beautiful summer day, a fun and relaxed couple, and many shwoony moments- yep, it was a good day!
We started this special day with a session of the gorgeous bride.  I decided I really like starting the day like this!
Kris- a dear friend of mine, a photographer herself (makes my job easier!), and the easy laugh and beautiful, relaxed look- fun!

…and then the Man showed up and the good times continued! :)
Jesse’s adoring look says it all!

love this one taken by Cliff. :)

so happy- so fun!

a few of the wedding party since I can’t seem to get by without posting some of them too.

Jesse & Kris- best wishes on your ‘happily ever after’! :)

Lonnie and Ruth::weddingbliss::

Bright and humid was this wedding day (less-than-ideal from this woman’s perspective), but like most couples, Lonnie and Ruth were fairly oblivious to the weather conditions and I was just thankful it wasn’t raining!  A striking couple and obvious love and adoration for each other made up for the weather. :)

Love the shoes!

Nothing like a woman’s favorite man to make a beautiful smile!

This is why I love second shooters… one perspective…

… another perspective

can’t resist a little ‘tude!

Best wishes on your ‘happily ever after’! :)

Travis & Stephanie

Wow!  I’m convinced I’m blessed with some of the most amazing clients!  Travis and Stephanie had a beautiful wedding, and the pictures?…  Well, I couldn’t have ask for a more beautiful morning to document this couple’s love and the beginning of this new chapter in their lives!
Meet this fun-loving, photogenic couple (and need I mention the gorgeous lighting??!) :)

Lookin’ good!

Smiles and laughter surrounded this lovely bride!

so sweet…so cute…so in love!

loved the bright colors!

These next 3 pictures are for Shan and anyone else who was wishing to see some of the Bridal Party. :)

fun details…

…and they lived happily ever after! :)

Charlie + Gloria

Cheers to another beautiful, sunny wedding day!!  I’d almost forgotten how much fun the bright morning sun is, but I’ve been reminded of it the past 2 Saturdays and love it all over again!
So, I’ve been working on changing my style of pictures a bit this spring…you may or may not have noticed.  If you have noticed, is it better than before?  See no difference?  Feed back is cool. :)

In the mean time, meet this fine couple and my ‘happy hour’ with them before the busyness of the wedding day started for real…

The idea for this picture came from day-dreaming during a wedding ceremony a few weeks ago. :)
Wishing you two the best that many years together can hold!

Jared & Carmen

Another dear friend is married! :)
Jared and Carmen had a lovely Easter-Saturday wedding.  One of those days that is filled with laughter, happiness, and tons of emotion- just the way I like it!
We took a few pictures of Jared & Carmen in the morning before the bridal party arrived, and then finished up with some more formals after the reception.
Here’s a peek into their special day…

So beautiful and in love!

Carmen- always so beautiful and charming!

Binx, er…Jared ;) looking quite dashing too!

Check out these colors- I thought it was one of the best uses of red and black I’ve seen yet!  I don’t usually post a lot of the bridal party, but decided to for this one since it was such a fun party and I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard, so often while shooting a wedding party before!  They were a wild bunch and super fun!

The lovely ladies

Striking, I know.

The guys.  The red is totally sharp!

Being quite normal actually! :P

One more shot of these dear friends/family.

And a few more of the happy couple to close out the day.  Btw, I love ending a wedding day with a few more pictures of the couple- it’s such a happy ending to a beautiful day. :)

May all your dreams come true in the next years spent with each other!  So glad you live close by- I’ll be over! ;)

Cody & Wanita

A fun wedding to start off the 2010 wedding season, and better yet, a friend’s wedding!  It’s always a pleasure and privilege to capture a friend’s special day, and this one was no different!  I fell in love with the little town of Harrison, Arkansas til this wedding was over, and this was a great couple to cruise around town with and take pictures!

I got a bang out of this window and had fun with it. :)

The glow of a bride never ceases to amaze me!

I loved the colors- totally Wanita! :)

Another of the beautiful bride!

This wedding shoot had several unique aspects to it, and one of them was the bright sunshine that occasionally popped out from behind the clouds.  This can also be a beautiful thing!

We finished off the wedding day with more pictures after the reception- I love shooting into the twilight, it’s such a happy ending to the day!

Blessings on this new chapter of your journey together, Cody & Wanita!

welcome, wedding season!

2010 weddings have begun!! :)

Benji & Maria:: part 2

some more of Benji & Maria’s wedding! :)

Maria got the gorgeous blue sky she wanted!

These lovely ladies were so much fun to spend time with!  I loved having so much time to just capture the girls!
Can you get enough of these gorgeous colors either?!

In the meantime, Mike was working with the guys at a different location- I’ll put 2 of his up.

And the bridal party…what a party it was!  :)  About 90% of my pictures look about like this!  They  had so much fun together and were a total party to work with!

every once in awhile we got a posed one where everyone was looking and no one was laughing or talking! :)

dear Waldo- not to be left out!

and one more of the happy couple! :)

Benji & Maria::wedding bliss

…and a special day it twas!  Madly in love and completely mesmerized would be putting it mildly! :)
Not only are these dear people my friends, but I loved the emotion and love that was expressed so freely on this amazing wedding day!
Nothing is more fun to capture and more fun to witness than that all-adoring gaze and emotion!  Ok, I’m gushing.  I’ll stop.  But it was a super amazing day… anyone who was there agree with me?? :)

oh yes, and the weather!  the weather was absolutely perfect!  warm, late afternoon rays that are so hard to come by in November, bathed us all afternoon!  ’Blessed’ would be an understatement.

gotta love when your second shooter takes one of your favorite photos of the day!

loved the details

maria- gorgeous bride and dear friend!

more prettiness!

the next 4- some of my favorites

love this picture- so them!  just hanging out and having fun with each other.

Cheers to a super amazing and fun couple!  Blessings as you guys start your journey thru life together! :)

Oh yeah, their bridal party was also a riot…maybe I’ll have to post some of them yet too. :)
