As soon as I met Bethany, I knew we were going to have a great session together! She was sweet, had a charming smile, and was as beautiful inside as out! Thanks for the lovely time together, Bethany! I left our session feeling blessed to have known you, if only for a short time. May you continue to be a blessing to many others, like you were to me! I’m now officially pumped about working with teens and seniors again this season; bring on the fun-loving, energetic, and inspirational!

Happy Spring everyone! I absolutely love this time of the year, and am so excited about another season of celebrating love and people! There’s some really fun weddings on the calendar for this summer, and I already can’t wait to blog about them! But we’ll start with first things first; and a lovely start it was!
Our wedding season started in March with the lovely wedding of Tim & Vasi Beiler. Such a fun day, and a great couple to combat the cold winds that decided to blow that day.

Tony & Jeanie:: elegance

When I think about Tony and Jeanie’s wedding, I have to smile. Not only because I love working with friends, but also because it was such a beautiful, elegant, and fun wedding! From the first moments in the morning with the girls while Jeanie got ready, to the Japanese lanterns soaring away into the night sky at the end of the day, it was lovely!
Because I’m working on their wedding album right now, I’m going to break up blogging a bit, and post some of the pages from their album instead of just individual photos. I’d love to know what you think of this; posting album pages instead of individual photos. I realized that I post more photos when I don’t have to work with each one individually!
Just a bit of promo for the album itself; this is a 12×12, leather-bond, double-weight page album. I love these books for their durability, large photos, and beautiful, vivid colors! Any wedding would be proud to be documented in a book like this.

Tony and Jeanie; thank you so much for the honor of being a part of your special day! We loved working with ya’ll and couldn’t have ask for a more fun and relaxed {and in love} couple! Cheers to your happily ever after!

Family Portraits {2011}

“Other things may change, but we begin and end with FAMILY”.
I love the break winter gives my business. True, it’s a self-appointed break (due to lack of enjoying cold temperatures and freezing subjects), but it’s a break all the same, and I love it! A time to recharge, organize the previous years computer files, design wedding albums, and plan for the coming years events.
This morning I was going through some files of family photos and decided to post a few of my sessions from last summer. I don’t usually post family pictures before Christmas (so as not to spoil the whole ‘sending out of the family Christmas picture’), but now that that’s past, here’s a peek into some of the fun families I was privileged to work with last year.

Oh for summer and the vivid colors and warm sunshine again!

If you can’t tell, I’m having a square photo fetish right now. Ah, love them!

I’m so thankful I have happy pictures to look back on from this wedding! It truly was a beautiful day, complete with lots of love and all the rights components to make a lovely wedding day. The value of being able to separate business and personal life while on the job was also brought a bit closer home when our car broke down on the way to take pictures that morning. Thanks to many kind souls, we were able to proceed through the day with a borrowed car and had a ride home the next day (we were in Indiana), but the added stress was definitely not something I wish to repeat anytime soon! My hubby did a great job of arranging things with our car while I [attempted to] carry out the wedding portraits as though all was well with the world.
All that to say, meet Chris and Sylvia, who were happily married and celebrated as planned!

If ever the popular quote, “Live. Laugh. Love” fit a couple, I’d say it fit this one! What an epic summer wedding (yes, that’s revealing as to how far behind I am on blogging:( ) filled with laughter and love all because of this handsome, funny, and in-love couple!
Never mind the rain that tried to kill the joy; we dodged the puddles and lived up the day capturing the beauty of this couple’s relationship.

Melissa was a gorgeous bride! She had a fun and easy laugh; often triggered by something Brandon said.

I don’t often post ceremony pictures, so decided to add a few this post. The Ring bearer and flower girl were way to cute!

This seems to be the ‘new cake’ this summer at weddings, and I love it! So fun and different.

Yes, I will agree, I’ve been quite absent on here lately, and yes, I do still have photo sessions and weddings to blog about! Please hold while I stay too busy to post for awhile.
I am very happy in my busyness though, and just have to put a plug in for the reason of at least some of what’s been keeping me hopping lately. I’m developing a new respect for choir tour coordinators- at a very fast rate of speed! Helping my hubby plan Laudate this year has made me realize how much work goes into a tour, and for that reason I want to give a big shout-out for anyone who has planned/coordinated a tour- go you! Most people will take your work for granted, but every last one of those details was planned by someone and is important!
We’d love to see you at one of their concerts coming up in just a few short weeks!

Paul & Verneda:: summer bliss

It’s always an honor to be involved in a friend’s special day, and Paul & Verneda’s wedding was no different. I’ve enjoyed observing their relationship, and know they are a wonderful couple! Their wedding was full of emotion and love, and was definitely a touching day for everyone present.

Verneda is a beautiful person inside and out, and the title of ‘bride’ only enhanced her beauty and the joy of the day! I decided to start with a few photos of the bride.

Most of the emphasis is usually put on the bride of any given wedding day, but the groom is definitely a big part of the day too! Paul, looking quite stellar as well!

I also want to add one of Verneda’s family- please keep them in your prayers as you think about it. John is fighting cancer right now, and Barb just came thru surgery to have a brain tumor removed. My thoughts are often with this family, and I know they’d appreciate your prayers for them during this tough season of life.

We had fun with Jordan’s guitars and the gorgeous evening light. Can’t say I minded the strumming as I shot either!
